Open Question: What should I do first?
Author: adminJul 31
I’m 24.
Now, I need to know what needs to be done first when working on fixing up a room.
Most of our rooms carries some sort of damage; usually water damage and peeling paint. Also, there are bright white patches splattered on every wall, except for the hallway bathroom and the basement.
Should I sand the walls, paint then seal cracks?
Or do I sand the walls, seal the cracks then paint?
I’ll be doing most of the work on our house; except for the floors, the kitchen, living room and the basement.
Also, what kind of paint should I use? The previous contractor who worked on this house, used really cheap paint. And what do I need to do, to keep the new paint from peeling?
And what about warm, neutral colors for the house? I refuse to paint everything bright white; which is what my mom wants.

Open Question: Any teen scene room ideas?
Author: adminJul 31
Im 15, I’m into the scene look, I want to do something new with my room. I am an alternative model, if that helps any. I plan on painting it and buying some old records to hang on my walls. I am very creative I just don’t have any ideas to start with. Once I get one good idea I would be all set. I can branch off of that. Thanks!
Resolved Question: What colors to paint my bedroom?
Author: adminJul 31
I have a relatively small room, and my walls have a chair rail on them, that I’d prefer to leave white. I’ve basically fallen in love with this deep rich dark red color for the bottom half of my wall under the chair rail, but I’d like to paint the upper half a lighter color because I think that if I painted the room completely red (minus the trim) it’d make the room look smaller. My floors are a light, light shade of hardwood, and my furniture is a dark espresso/black color. Please help me decide what to paint the top half of my wall. Thanks in advance.

Open Question: Pine paneling in bathroom, leave as a feature or paint it out?
Author: adminJul 31
I have pine paneling from floor to ceiling that covers half my bathroom. Right now it’s an orangey wood tone and I’ve painted the remaining walls to match that tone. I would like to achieve the “Spa” feeling in there. The fixtures are a bone colour and the vanity cabinetry is a creamy off-white with antiqued bronze handles, and an antiqued bronze framed mirror. I would like to know if I should keep the orangey wood and use it as a feature, OR should I give it a colour “wash”, OR should I just paint the whole room a different colour? I was thinking CIL “Etching” (light grey-blue) would be nice. Suggestions please!
Open Question: Is it a good idea to clean tartar by yourself with the kit available from Wal-mart?
Author: adminJul 31
I am in my early 30s. I went to a dentist for the first time and found out that I don’t have any cavities or any other problems and in fact my teeth are very strong. But the dentist said I have periodontal disease, because I have tartar/calculus build up behind my bottom and side teeth. They wanted to deep clean. After my insurance and all, they estimated ~$700-800 out of my pocket, mainly because of the Arestin antibiotic. I want to know what if I try to clean this myself slowly using the $5 kit available from Wal-Mart.
Please let me know if you have any experience on this. I know it is always good to go to the doctor, but this thing seem to be easy as scrapping off paint from a wall.
