Open Question: I need to paint my kitchen walls but they are a mess…Need help please?
Author: adminAug 31
There are so many things wrong with my kitchen walls which is why I’m going to paint them. There are soft places where the wall has broken in a little, at the bottom the walls are broken in and have a hole and I need to know how to repair this. It is also the originial wall and it was never wallpapered or painted. Plus, there are random nails and other dents that we need to sand out before we paint. How would we paint this? Are there certain steps like first sand then paint? All help is appreciated.
Open Question: Suggestions for re-decorating room? (Teen Girl)?
Author: adminAug 31
Hi! I am moving, and get to decorate my new room. I need some suggestions for decorations. I am 13 if that helps at all.
My theme is all shades of blue any green. Turquoise counts. - (Purple is fine also :D)
I already have paint for my walls. Two walls will be white, with a tint of blue, and the other two will just a little bit darker blue then that. My comforter for my bed is between a blue and turquoise color.
That is what I have so far - I need help decorating the rest! ![]()
Oh, and by the way, if it helps at all, my room is 13′x15′, and I have a full size bed, desk, and tv. (any way to decorate these with my theme?)
Best answer = 10 Points!
Thanks!
Open Question: How do i prep my walls for painting when they have very old wallpaper?
Author: adminAug 31
my bedroom walls has many years (about 60) of wallpaper on it. i don’t know how to go about removing the wallpaper so i can paint afterward.
i was going to just add another layer of paint-able wallpaper but i decided i really want the smooth look of paint.
i’ve all ready taken most of the layers off probably leaving 3 layers im not sure what i should do next.
is there something i can put on the wallpaper making it smooth and paint-able? do i have to strip every layer and then plaster ? i want to avoid just putting sheetrock over the walls because the room is all ready very small and i do not want to make it any smaller.
i dont know how much paper to strip off. at what point do i stop stripping paper. i doubt im going to be able to see the original drywall the walls have 60 years plus of wallpaper on it.

Open Question: How to repair large holes in lath and plaster walls and ceilings?
Author: adminAug 31
I have 4 spots in an old house that has lath and plaster walls and ceilings and I need to know how to best repair them.
The dimensions are:
Room #1: Ceiling 2′ x 4′ hole
Room #2: Wall 4′ x 10′ hole (plumbers tore out to do repairs)
Room#3: Wall 2′ x 2′ in bathroom under sink
Room #4: Ceiling 3′ x 3′
All of these problem areas are from plumbing leaks.
Any help or direction to videos would be helpful.
My first thought is to square up the holes and attach a piece of 3/8 or 1/2 sheetrock to the laths, tape, mud, sand, prime and paint.
Help!
Open Question: What is something I can do with my nails besides painting them and putting those fake gems on?
Author: adminAug 31
Is there some kind of way that I can get really cool looking designs on my nails besides putting stickers on? Like stencils for your nails, you know like when you paint flowers on a wall or something and you use a stencil thing.

okay so the following content, is a story, a novel i am writing, the third chapter.
It doesnt matter that you have missed the beginning, if you want to read from start, i will give you the link.
The third chapter:
The hotel, Carlos decided to stop to, was two miles away; I complained, telling him that I couldn’t no more, that my feet were exhausted, so he changed his mind and led me to a dump hotel across the street. It was old and had broken windows but people still entered, only for a night, I guess.
It looked like the club I went to a couple of days ago, it reminded me of the night I almost got raped by a ‘crazy for love’, man, luckily Carlos was there and beat him up, I assume since i had fainted, causing my vision to go blank and miss that part. I had believed that I was actually raped by that man, I believed that he punched Carlos away and came back, but I was wrong. Carlos explained everything the day after, in the hospital.
Images of the man rolling up my skirt, clothes thrown in a pile and pain, flashed threw me, turning into a movie, becoming bigger and bigger every second that passed. Fear raised inside of me; Carlos caught my hand while I was taking steps backwards , almost falling on the street, causing another memory; where the man had caught my hand when I tried to escape, the biggest regret I would ever have, I didn’t have to follow him. I never should have followed him.Not this hotel, I managed to say, my eyes not leaving the building.Follow me, he said like he knew what I was thinking. His gaze was serious, not even a smile on his face; he stroke his hair back and sighed, walking. You’re never going to forget, are you?I don’t know.
We walked the two miles Carlos had planned earlier, reaching a rich, fancy hotel with Roman architecture and Greek columns. The interior was more beautiful than the exterior, a painting by Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa, was in the middle of the wall and a picture of him beside it. A red and gold carpet covered the whole floor and carved wings was on the French doors.
I forgot all about the last hotel, that last incident, last memory; now, a new one was building up, a happy one. I had never been in a rich hotel before because we didn’t have the money to afford it, and because we didn’t need a hotel since we had our own house; which considering now, that house is not mine anymore, I am not a part of my family anymore but the Angel’s family; that’s where I belonged now, with the Angels.

Open Question: How does one go about painting walls , last painted in 1995 ?!?

In places, the underlying grey plaster — the original wall — is showing . The layers of OBD fall off in chunks , so that the wall looks like a map of the world !
( I would now like to use plastic emulsion .) Any special putty ….?
