I bought painter’s tape to protect my ceiling when painting my bedroom. When I starting taking off the tape, paint from the walls starting coming off with the tape. I had to use a putty knife to cut a not so even edge to save as much as I could. I will have to go back and repaint carefully, but I am curious to know what I did wrong for future reference when I paint my kitchen next month.

Open Question: Painting Milk Crates… Krylon Fusion for Plastic®?
Author: adminJul 29
I am going to move and I am going to get a new set of shelving units for my bedroom/office.
I like drawers more than open shelves but I know that shelves work best for both simple and complicated storage.
I have been using milk crates in my bedroom because they fit well under my desk but they are black etc. and not the best looking things.
I know that the whole Cube fad is still in effect and I was thinking that if I were to get Krylon Fusion for Plastics, I could paint them inside and out to match the style of my soon-to-be new bedroom/office.
I was thinking of getting 3 colors, Plum, Satin Peekaboo Blue, Honeydew. (You see it on the site)
I was originally thinking Rainbow, with 1 cube of each color, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple… But that would get expensive and I think it would be too much…
Do you think that this would be a good idea? Use the milk crates, which last forever, instead of those expensive wooden or cloth covered cardboard ones you buy at Target?
Sorry, I forgot to link…

Is Krylon a good brand? Would something else be better?
Thx!

Open Question: A certain design for my future living room?
Author: adminJul 29
Ok, so this is sort of a weird question, but when i move out (Hopefully soon) I was thinking of future designs for my living room… I really really, ideally, want a living room that is very peaceful and sureen (for lack of a better word) i LOVE asian culture, nothing to gawdy like dragons and what not.. but the bamboo trees, the dark maroons and tans etc.. I was almost thinking of centering my living room around the painting The Kiss by Gustav Klimpt.. but not as ellaborate.. anyways, does anyone have an idea of a good color scheme? When people walk into my house i want them to feel comfortable and at home.. not like Ah am i allowed to sit down, or am i allowed to touch that? etc..
Maybe suggestions of furniture pieces, or wall decor, or something NOT to do.. or good places to shop..Thanks!
Im also going to put up an indoor wall fountain as well…
Open Question: How can I make my new home look nicer on a VERY SMALL budget?
Author: adminJul 29
So I just moved into a new house. Its really great and has lots of space. There’s only one problem. Everything is blue. The carpets are blue, the counter tops are blue, the lenolium is blue… EVERYTHING! So my problem is what do I do to tone it down? Im not sure what will look nice as far as a color scheme and all my walls are white and I can not paint because it’s a rental. HELP! It’s cold and far from being homey at this point.

Resolved Question: Is the color green often associated with love in art?
Author: adminJul 29
My now ex-boyfriend has an art hobby, and he was once talking about possibly painting a nude portrait of me with a green glaze covering over the painting. When I asked him why he wanted to use a green glaze, he said that green was often associated with love in art. Is this true, or is he just full of it?

Open Question: Anyone understand this drawing style? Please help!?
Author: adminJul 29
Hey, everyone. I need help with a certain drawing and painting style. Have you ever seen those pictures of people’s faces that only use 2 colors in them. There’s no shading, the colors are solid, but the picture still pops. Can anyone tell me what this style is called and/or how to use it effectively? Thanks
I’m pretty sure its not a silhouette. The one I’m talking about still has a lot of detail in it, but its kind of blotchy, if that makes sense.
Here’s a link. I’m kind of new to this so sorry if it does’nt work.

Umm, I’m trying to learn how to draw like that. Like with ink on paper or canvas. I understand the photo conversion thing though. Thanks anyway ![]()
