paint color help
Author: adminApr 29
I wish to paint my open concept kitchen only that flows into the dining and living area. The cupboards are pine stained colored veneer, the countertops are offwhite laminated, the backsplash are all a very light brown two toned color, and the appliances are all white. there is alot of cupboard space and less wall that unfortunately shows from the dining/living area.
Can you please advise me on a modern color for the walls and trimmings. I currently have a cream/light brown color and there is also a brick designed wall that is grey in color.
Hope this is a good visual for you
Color dilemma

Hi,
I am in the process of updating my kitchen and I have a color and design challenge. My kitchen, dining room and living room are an open concept design with a 3 sided fireplace that separates the dining area from the living room. The kitchen and dining area have 18 ft ceilings and I don't have much natural lighting. I really want to go with a mediterranean feel with jewel tone colors; however, I'm sure this will darken the room even more. I have maple stained cabinets and do not plan to change this as well as white appliances. I just ordered new countertops which are a dark blue with large lighter colored speckles.
I have no idea how to bring the rooms in to give it a more "homey" feel.
Thanks!
Kristen S.

trying to decide on color
Author: adminApr 28
Hello Shannon, I just bought a house and need to paint the house and am trying to decide on colors. The house has beautiful white crown molding throughout and I would like to accent that. I also want to do dark flooring (a coffee or chocolate color). My style is a mixture of modern&classic. I will have a mixture of modern furniture with classic paintings with gold frame. I want a light color throughout but also want to accentuate the classic details of the house (molding and beautiful windows). The house is very beige right now and I Don't want anything BEIGE. I was thinking about something very light gray, but also feel it's going to look colder. I am looking at colors like SW pearly white (SW7009) but I believe it will not offer enough contrast with the moldings, so my other option would be NACRE SW 6154, however I am worried about the overall look of that color, what kind of hue it will offer? greenish, yellow, gray? What should I do for the ceilings? white or the same color? My furniture is black leather, black grand piano… I want a classy airy feel, chic, modern and I want the moldings to POP. For the upstairs, I would like very subtle hint of colors, pink, grayish blue and green, for each room but I am not sure what colors to choose that would not break the flow of the house downstairs. I am also looking for some stronger TONES that would look good as accent colors in the rooms upstairs. I am very interested in doing a very bright color in my walking closet (something like surfer blue SW6946, but what other lighter tones of blue would go with and make a seamless transition to the master bedroom, that I would like to paint a very light grayish blue?? Do you have any ideas? Thank you very much. Elaine C.

Exterior paint to coordinate w/ brick
Author: adminApr 27
- I'd like your opinion as to what color to paint the trim and backside of our very tall house. I'm very partial to a mossy green and would like to coordinate the colors to make the house look less traditional. We would need to pain the front door and trim around the door, the trim around the roofline, the trim with the 3 windows in front and the entire back side of the house. The color of the brick in the picture is representative of the true color…sort of an adobe color with dark hues and a little white. I've tried talking my husband into painting the brick, but he is not interested in this.
- Thanks
